Embarking on the adventure of fatherhood is like learning a new skill or finding a new passion — encompassing dedication, patience, and a willingness to embrace the new. For Ray Stefanelli (@savviduo), this journey has not only reshaped his world, but also redefined the meaning of creativity.  

Welcoming a son and daughter into his life meant embracing the sleepless nights, toughing out the routine of daily life, and navigating through the pace of parenting. For Stefanelli, his children gave him a fresh, new outlook on life.

“You truly don’t realize how much love you can have for someone. I worried that I wasn’t going to have enough room in my heart to love another child, but boy was I wrong. The heart just grows!” 

The Surprises of Fatherhood

With two kids, fatherhood brought him surprises that no one could have prepared him for, particularly the sheer exhaustion that comes with the territory. “I’ve heard it’s tiring, but it’s surprising how tiring it really is. Many sleepless nights when they’re born. Then as toddlers they are constantly waking up in the middle of the night, coming into your room,” he said.  

Stefanelli now has a non-stop daily routine, he has embraced the chaos with a positive spirit: “I wake up super early to make their lunches, go to work, pick them up and take them to karate, dance, or whatever activities they have for that day. Then, we come home, have dinner, help with their homework, get them ready for bed, rinse and repeat.” His tireless dedication is reflected in the content he shares on social media, where he aims to spread joy and positivity.

He started dabbling in YouTube when the platform first started, but the decision to start a YouTube channel was driven by his children’s interest. “When they got older, they had watched so much YouTube that they wanted to create their own channel," said Stefanelli.

He has been careful to ensure that it remains a fun and voluntary activity for them, with the family brainstorming ideas casually during breakfast before bringing the ideas to life. They also draw inspiration from other channels while adding their own unique twist. “I’ll say, ‘hey kids do you want to make a video about this?’ If they say yes, we start brainstorming. After breakfast, we’ll start filming,” he added. 

"I’m not a parent that will force my kids to do something they don’t want to do. I let them try something and if they don’t like it, we move on."

Running a YouTube channel with his children meant managing their time wisely. With different personalities and schedules to juggle, finding the right moment to film can be tricky. Despite these hurdles, they have their own routine that allows them to enjoy the creative process while understanding the effort involved. “We’ve been shooting videos several months now. They know the drill. They know we may have to do things several times or redo things we’ve done in the past because we find out we missed something while in the editing process,” he said. 

A chance Christmas purchase of the RENPHO Eyeris 1 Eye Massager for his wife, who suffers from stress and migraine headaches, led to Stefanelli’s unexpected partnership with the brand. “The eye massager is amazing. It does everything it says it does. I had recently joined TikTok and started seeing people promoting different products. I saw that the eye massager was on the TikTok shop. I thought I would promote the product because I believe in it and thought others should really give it a try,” he said. 

He is currently looking forward to growing his YouTube channel and TikTok Shop affiliate program, aspiring to make a living from home and doing something he is passionate about: content creation. Not only would this allow him to spend more time with his wife and children, but there would also be less stress when it comes to finances. His advice for fellow creators is simple:

“Just keep going and keep putting in the work. You get out what you put in.” 

Like his catchy tagline for the eye massager, “Don’t Sleep On It, Sleep With It,” he wishes people would grab every opportunity that comes their way, as long as it brings them closer to their dreams.

As such, don’t sleep on your goals, sleep with them in mind.
